Patrick Bass, a North Little Rock native, founded the CASC Racers to
promote his love for the sport of swimming in Arkansas and to teach
others that with dedication, discipline and determination, in life and
swimming, great things can be accomplished!  

Coach Bass grew up in Arkansas swimming for the Lakewood Waves
and the Dolphins.  After High School, Patrick attended Henderson
State University where he earned three-time Athletic All-American,
five-time Honorable Mention Athletic All-American, 2004 Arkansas
Swimming Hall of Fame Swimmer of the Year, and Henderson State
University Record Holder from 1998- 2004.

As a Sports Trainer and Coach, Patrick has taught many swimmers
throughout his career as Aquatics Director for the North Little Rock
Boys & Girls Club, Heflin YMCA, Lakewood Waves and as the North
Little Rock High School Swim Team Coach.  His passion and
knowledge for the sport of swimming, easy going personality and
commitment to his swimmers creates an atmosphere that swimmers
are drawn to and want to be part of.



Onat Tungac

Onat Tungac joined the Racers organization in July 2008 as the club’
s Co-Head Coach.  His mission is to help grow the popularity of the
sport of swimming.  Born in Izmir, Turkey, Onat has had an
international swimming career!  Coach “O” began swimming at an
early age for Fenerbahce Swimming Club in Turkey, is an eight-time
member of the Turkish National Team and represented Turkey at
the 2005 World University Games.  

In 2008, Onat graduated from Henderson State University where he
received numerous awards including nine-time Athletic All-American,
eight-time Honorable Mention All-American, and Henderson State
University Record Holder from 2004 – 2008.  

Coach Onat’s International competition background is a great
resource to the Racers team.  He knows what it takes to be
successful in the sport of swimming at all levels of swimming.  His
passion and intensity for swimming, along with his experience are his
greatest strengths!  Swimmers feel his dedication and genuine care
and know that he is about winning in the water and at the game of
life.
